In this issue, JOHE publishes the selected article of the first winner in a special project undertaken by the journal this year. The main requirement for this peer-reviewed article was that it address one of the topics presented by Bridgett McGowen in the Faculty Training: Attendance in Online Live Sessions; Increasing Student Engagement in the Online Environment; or Addressing the Needs of AtRisk Students. Dr. Beverly Fierro is the winner with her submission of, Free Your Mind: Reflections on Bridgett McGowan’s Lights, Camera, ACTIVE! Dr. Fierro describes the challenges she perceives in online education and student engagement. JOHE will gladly accept any further submissions for the next issue.
